The Problem

Nowadays, life isn’t like it was years ago. Lots of families have both parents working. Life is much busier and therefore more stressful and oftentimes our meals bear the brunt of this lifestyle. Instead of food being prepared from scratch, full of fresh, wholesome ingredients, meals are made up out of frozen foods, cans and boxes of stuff that has been made in a factory and processed to a point where many of the original ingredients are unrecognizable… it is dead. Then, to add insult to injury… we pop it in the microwave to kill it even more… just so that we can get it on the table faster. This is how we feed ourselves and we wonder why we get sick and tired.

Have you ever checked in with yourself after eating that way? How do you feel? Do you feel light, raring to go, ready to face the world? Or do you want to take a nap, sit in front of the T.V. or have a cup of coffee? How would you rather feel?

The Solution

‘You are what you eat’. Such a quaint, little expression… or is it? Could there be something to it? Let’s see… if we eat unhealthy food, we feel unhealthy. If we eat healthy food, we feel healthy. Hmmm! Simple, right? Eat healthy. But there are only so many salads and pieces of fruit that you can eat and it starts to get so boring… right? You want to eat tasty, melt in your mouth, delicious food, right? Me too!

Imagine eating chocolate cheesecake, pizza, truffles, burgers, apple pie, lasagna, milkshakes, burritos, ice cream… and the list goes on and on! Imagine eating all of that amazing food, but instead of heading for the couch afterwards, you feel alive and free and ready to take on the world!

Is it possible? Is there food out there like that? Yes and it is right in your kitchen. The way this food is prepared is different, not difficult. In fact, a lot of the time, it is much simpler and takes less time than putting together a ‘traditional meal’.

As with any new endeavour, there are new things to learn, new habits to make and new ideas to awaken. It is exciting. It is how we grow. It is what life is all about. The most exciting part of this is no matter how much or how little you change the way you eat for the better, it all makes huge impact on your health and how you feel! What Do I Do Now?

Do we need to eat 100% raw? Well… only you can answer that. There is a lot of information out there… you are on the computer right now and you can access every opinion there is on how you should eat. The only thing it can’t access is how you feel. Do you feel good? Bad? Alive? Depressed? Happy? Sexy?

Do you actually know how you feel? There is so much going on in our lives today, that many of us are cut off from even knowing what is going on in our own bodies. We are also cut off from knowing the power we have to change how we feel.

Why do we feel the way we do? Do you have to do anything radical to find that out? Not really… how about, the next meal you have, you take a few minutes afterwards… maybe about a half an hour after you are done and feel how you feel? That’s it… just feel. Do you feel good? Bad? Alive? Depressed…?

Once you start to get used to noticing how eating makes you feel, you have made a giant step on the road to understanding how your food choices dictate how your life will feel. Isn’t it all very exciting to realize that we have so much power over our lives and we are not just victims to it?
